Ceremonial Copal Incense Burner Handpainted-Pottery .  This is one of kind piece and is hand sculpted, has a special coloration of red on buff. It has fire clouding painted by the fire in the process, unique piece. This incense burner is hand made out of special red river clay that is perfect for burning incense. The geometric design painted are Purepecha designs containing sea shells, mountains and valleys. The Copal Incense Burner Handpainted-Pottery measures approximately 6 inches  wide  by 7 inches tall and wide.You will be receiving the exact incense burner vase  in the description.   It weighs apoximatelly 1 pounds, perfect for holding with a durable grip.

About the building process:  

First I collect the clay and hand coil it into the shape of the Copal Incense Burner Handpainted-Pottery then hand paint with natural earth minerals and ochers, this type of pottery is beautiful and is called black on black pottery. In order to get the feel and result of Ancient North American pottery I use local river clay. I let the piece air dry for at least a week, then I further let them dry outdoor in the Sun. I then pit fire them in my studio. The color of the turtle Ocarina is due to the properties of the clay and fire clouding which means painted by fire. Each piece takes close to twenty days to complete These items are one of a kind artisan piece. This craft is authentic Purepecha First Nations pottery.
