About the building process:
First I collect the clay and hand coil it into the shape of the Hawk Ocarina Sound Healing Instruments Black Clay Pottery then hand paint with natural earth minerals and ochers, this type of pottery is beautiful and is called black on black pottery. In order to get the feel and result of Ancient North American pottery, I use local river clay. I let the piece air dry for at least a week, then I further let them dry outdoor in the Sun. I then pit fire them in my studio. The color of the turtle Ocarina is due to the properties of the clay and fire clouding which means painted by fire. Each piece takes close to twenty days to complete These items are one of a kind artisan piece. This craft is authentic Purepecha First Nations pottery.
