This incense burner is hand made out of special red river clay that is perfect for burning incense. Geometric incised design and coiling along with an owl head in the front of the burner. Much detail was placed by the artist. this is one of a kind piece. This is a large bowl Copal Incense Burner measures approximately 12 inches long by 5 inches tall .You will be receiving the exact incense burner vase  in the description.   It weighs slightly over 2 pounds, perfect for smudging. About the building process:  

First I collect the clay and hand coil it into the shape of the Copal Incense Burner Handpainted-Pottery then hand paint with natural earth minerals and ochers, this type of pottery is burnished and called red terra pottery. In order to get the feel and result of Ancient pottery I use local river clay. I let the piece air dry for at least a week, then I further let them dry outdoor in the Sun. I then pit fire them in my studio. The color of the incense burner  is due to the properties of the clay and fire clouding which means painted by fire. Each piece takes close to twenty days to complete These items are one of a kind artisan piece. This craft is authentic P’urepecha tribal pottery.
