This stunning succulent small bowl planter makes a nice decor piece or can be used for educational purposes or store small object succulent planter. This beautiful Ancient Olla is hand painted pottery and  measures approximately 4.5 inches tall by 4 inches wide. It is a good size im trying out bigger pieces. This Floral small bowl planter is painted with different color underglazes and pigments then glazed and fired.

About the building process:   

The building process: First I collect the clay and hand coil it into the shape of the Pot. In order to get the feel and result of Ancient hand painted pottery I use local river clay. I let the piece air dry then sand and paint the designs with natural clay pigments from different colored clays, then I further let them dry outdoor in the Sun. I then pit fire them in my studio. The color of the Pot is due to the properties of the clay and fire clouding which means painted by fire. Each hand painted pottery takes close to twenty days to complete These items are one of a kind artisan piece.
